When do bus trips go on sale?
Bus trips typically go on sale at noon on the Monday prior to the trip, unless that day is a holiday. The actual time and date will always be posted on our website and sent out to the snowriders email list.
How do I signup for a trip?
You must signup for all bus trips through our website using your own credit card. When the trip is open for signups, a link will appear on our homepage as well as on our rider board.
Who can go on the bus trips?
Currently, we allow anyone with an MIT certificate or Snowriders Account to signup for bus trips. However, because we are a student-run group, we may limit this in the future to currently enrolled MIT students depending on our resources.
Can I bring guests?
Yes, you may bring up to 3 guests. Your guests must signup online for the trip after you have already signed up.
Do I have to use a credit card? Can I pay with cash or a check?
You must use a credit card. Snowriders has been successful because we have automated the signup process using credit cards. If we had to deal with cash and checks from everyone, then we would never have time to organize new trips every week.
I purchased a ticket for a bus trip, but now I can't go.
We offer no refunds, however, you may exchange your ticket. Once the trip sells out, a waitlist will begin to form (see the bottom of the ride's details page). You may email those people to find a buyer, then complete the online exchange process to officially switch on our passenger list. The online exchange does not become available until the trip is full.
I want to go on a bus trip, but it is full.
Join the waitlist for the trip and wait for a seller to contact you. Because we have limited resources, it is not likely that we will add more space beyone that which was initially offered.
The weather is really bad. How will I know if a trip is cancelled?
Details will be posted on our website and an email will be sent to all passengers about any cancellations. Please review our inclement weather policy.
Will I get a refund if a trip is cancelled?
Yes, but you are not guaranteed a full refund for bus fare. Please review our inclement weather policy for complete deails.
